Pick a passage to comment on.
I want to comment on his chapter 1 and 3 beauty passage. In this passage he talks about how the world is made with beauty. He says the earth had beautiful nature''But besides this general grace diffused over nature, almost all the individual forms are agreeable to the eye, as is proved by our endless imitations of some of them, as the acorn, the grape, the pine-cone, the wheat-ear, the egg, the wings and forms of most birds, the lion's claw, the serpent, the butterfly, sea-shells, flames, clouds, buds, leaves, and the forms of many trees, as the palm". Also he says that most of the individual forms are agreeable top the eye. In this passage he says the power of the eye is shaper of reality. He means that the human eye can see everything, and creates a picture for the human. In conclusion, he talks about the relationship of humans and nature.

This is a the start of a good post - but push that idea further - what does Emerson mean about our ability to shape beauty?
