In Scene one the Act starts off with a few Imagery. Line 7 the Gentlewomen is talking about how Lady Macbeth has been fast asleep. " Yet all this while in a most fast sleep
". The doctor also uses sleep when he says " A great perturbation in nature, to receive at once the benefit of sleep ... In the slumbery agitation. " On page 206 Lady Macbeth uses Fear and Injury when she is talking to the Doctor. Line 33, " a soldier, and afeard? What need we fear who knows it. Yet would have to thought the old man have had so much blood in him. Lady Macbeth is saying for shame a soldier and afraid. And she questions why should we fear who knows it when no one can challenge our authority.

Act 3 scenes 1-3
In this chapter I there was a lot of imagery that took place. In scene one between Macbeth and Servant. On page 114 Macbeth is talking about how he killed Duncan when he uses a lot of imagery. " But to be safely thus: our fears in Banquo. Reigns that which would be feared. ... Who's being do I fear ... Duncan I have murdered." In this paragraph Macbeth talks about to be king is nothing unless he is safely king. He also says he is fearing Banquo. He has murdered Duncan. So he uses the imagery of Death and fear. In scene 2 Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are talking Macbeth uses a lot of imagery. It starts on line 15, " We have scotched the snake, not killed it ... Both worlds suffer ... Ere we will eat our meal in fear and sleep ... Better between be with the dead ... Than on the torture of the mind to lie ... After life's fitful fever he sleeps well. This paragraph shows Injury, Death, Fear, and Sleep.

Act 2
In this Act the imagery that stuck to me the most was Sleep. In scene one on page 74 I felt that sleep was important. Line 24 Banquo says, " I dreamt last night of the three Weird Sister." In this quote Banquo says he has a encounter with witches where they told him what was to come true. Next in Scene 2 Macbeth uses alot of Sleep Imagery. On page 82, Line 53 Macbeth is talking to Lady Macbeth and states, " Still it cried 'Sleep no more! to all the house 'Glamis hath murdered sleep, and their Cawdor sleep no more: Macbeth sleep no more. Macbeth in this scene was hearing voices say sleep no more.

Act 4 Scene 3
In this scene I get all kinds of different Imagery. The imagery I see is disease, death, and Injury. 183, 186, 190. In this scene on pg 183, Macduff is talking to Malcolm usuing the imagery of Injury. He says, " Bleed, Bleed, poor country."He tells the country to bleed. On page 190, Macduff and Malcolm are talking about a king. Macduff says, " Whats the disease he means?" He is saying what does this mean? Next on page 186 line 96, Macduff is talking to Malcolm and he uses Planting, Death, and Fear in one paragraph. "Sticks deeper grows with more pernicious root, " The sword of our slain kings: yet they do not fear." Macduff is saying that the greed is more deeply planted in the root and it has cause death among our kings. But dont fear, Scottland has plenty to satisfy your wants.
Act 4 Scenes 1-2
In these scenes in Act 4 the major imagery that come out to me are Fear, Injury, and Double. This images come out in these sections because Macbeth comes to witches and apparitions to look for his fate and more answers of being king. On page 158, the witches are talking and they use the imagery double. Pg 158 line 10 " Double, double toil and trouble, Fire burn and cauldron bubble. The witches are coming together is scene. On page 164 it shows the imagery of fear and injury. Line 82, " Thou hast harped my fear aright." Macbeth states from this quote that the Apparition has touched on his fear. Also, on 164 the 2nd Apparation says be Bloody, bold, and resolute. The Appatition is basically saying to be determined
Act 3 scenes 4-6
In this passage the two main images that stuck out to me were Death and Fear. The reason why the images stuck out in this section was because the murderers talk about the killing of the king. On pg 134 it says " bound in To saucy doubts and fears." Macbeth in this section talks about how he is trapped and confined in doubts and fears. Also, on this page it talks about death. " The least a death to nature." The Murderer is stating that the king is in the ground with cuts on his head and the minimum of them fatal.

Act 1 Scenes 1-3/ Shadow and Darkness
In Act 1 scenes 1-3 Shadow and Darkness play a big role in this play mostly coming from the witches. The witches bring a since of Shadow and Darkness because they are mysterious taling about people, predicting people's fate, and putting curses on individuals. It states in scene one that they want to meet in a dark place where there is no sun and fog and filthy air. In scene 3 Banquo explains that they are in a strange predicament. He says that Macbeth might be king but the forces of evil often tempt us to tell us the truths and we can be betrayed. He says that this is strange thing and that it could hurt us if we dont pay attention.
Act 1 Scenes 4-7/Sleep
In Act Scenes 4-7 sleep is a big takes a big roll because for someone to function they have to get enough sleep to function and move through the day. In Act scene 7 on page 62 Lady Macbeth talks about Macbeth saying that are his ambitions and dreams sleeping. This means that what he wanted to do are not in thought anymore. Also, in scene 7 on page 64 it shows that sleep is important because it states when Duncan goes to sleep Lady Macbeth with get the guards drunk and then kill Duncan. When characters are sleep in this book they loose a sense of focus and attention.

Blog: Book vs Movie
The movie was quite different than the book to me in my opinion. In the movie it made me see how immature Rob acted. The movie showed that Rob was confused with his girls by his facial expression and his acting. By seeing it in person I became more connected to the story because I got to see how the author wanted to see how the characters really acted than you guessing in your head. It also makes Dick and Barry look more interesting by watching the movie. The book makes it seem like there two losers whit no life. Barry seems way more funny and interesting in the movie because of Jack Black who played him. The movie also skips out on a character in the book where Rob takes his friends girl. Jackie isn't in the movie because their is no Phil which would make the movie longer to put him in it.
In conclusion, it made the characters come to life without you having to guess what he or she looks like or acts like.

Story
My name is Josh and for a living I am a Carpenter. I'm six foot one, two hundred and five pounds. On the outside I have black hair, my body type is muscular, riped, athletic basketball type. My clothing style is Ed Hardy, LRG, basically small shirts with designs on them and hats sometimes. My best qualities are that I am flexible to listen to people and I have a have sense of humor. My worst qualities are I'm lazy when it comes to work and I have a ego. I am easy going most of the time except when I'm in a bad mood. My weaknesses are saying no to people when they ask me for something. I really don't hate anybody, I love my new born kid Karon.
After I came from the bedroom I told my wife that I wanted the baby. I was thinking how after all she has put me through she wants me to stay or her having the baby. She had a affair twice and wanted me to forgive her. I didn't want the baby seeing many different men in this house. I wasn't leaving with out my son. She was yelling that she wanted the baby and I started walking towards her. I grabbed the baby not even hearing the baby's reaction. I grabbed him really tightly next to the stove and began saying let go he's my son. I wanted him so badly because he's the only thing that matters in life to me right now. So I grabbed the baby taking Maria fingers off. Maria screamed and grabbed the other babies arm. Then not noticing the baby the worst think happen. We killed it by puling his arms. When the baby died we called the ambulance. I became angry, ashamed of what we have did, miserable, and heartbroken. I yelled and cried for along time. I realized that I should of taken her to court or came in a relaxed mood.

High Fidelity Chapters 1-6
I think that Rob is similar to me because we both have had similar relationships and break up. He seems cool so far although he stuck in the relationship era. I think if he would just let his relationship take it's place instead of putting to much thought in it they would work. He has a obsession with with rating things music and women. He relates his women to his obsession with rating women. The reason why he puts Alison Ashworth in his number 1 because it's his first type of relationship with a girl even though it was a simple short one. They met at the park and he just went with it.
All of his relationships were similar to the first in many ways. First, they are similar because he finds in his relationships something new whether it's his first real love, relationship, girl he dumped etc. Also, relate because he ends up breaking up with them because of something he was doing. This tells that Rob is obsessed with relationships, he tries to hard with girls, and girls have ruined and made his life. I sympathize for him because relationships have ruined his life. With one girl he dropped out of college. This shows that he is way to caught up in his love life.
In conclusion, I like him because he is like me in some cases, and all he wants to find is the right girl.

Nick Hornby - How to read
In this reading on "How To Read", Nick Hornby is saying that most people read books that don't interest them. Then when they read it, it takes them a long time to finish it. The person will read over the same line ten times because the book is so boring. Hornby says that we would rather go out of our way to watch television and movie than read. He believes that it doesn't matter what you read but as long as you like the book your reading.
My reading style is exactly like Nick Hornby said. I'm only interested in a book if it relates to me or it has something that I like. I liked Black Like Me, Huck Finn, and Black Hawk Down. Books I didn't enjoy were Last American Man, There eyes are watch God, and Homer Illiad. Made it a bad experience was that they didn't have conflicts or characters that I didn't enjoy. The book has to be enjoyable by having conflict whether its action or horror. I like books that are fiction so you can explore your imagination.

Why does Joe decide to master time? How does he do it?
Joe decides to master time because he wants to stay in touch with the world and figure out how long he is staying in the hospital. He first starts to do math with big numbers. Then he tryies to count every second and every minuste but realizes that it's to hard to do. He figures out that nurses come in the mournings and feed him etc. He feels the presence of the mourning the dew on the grass. He's happy that he can actually get in touch with the world. He knows when the sun comes up and can feel its presence. I think Joe is really intelligent for memorizing this concept everyday.

Why does that rat come to visit Joe? What does it represent?
The comes to visit Joe because he has a wound that has not healed up. The rat reminds him when he was in war. He remembers seeing an officer get his face chewed on by a rat. When Joe feels his cut on his side it reminds him of that experience.
It represents a itch that keeps on knawing at his body. He can't do anything about it but feel his since of touch. This rat could be a itch, or doctors working on him that we don't know about. I think we will find out more about this itch later in the book.

What does Esther mean when she says she feels trapped under a bell jar?
It means that she is under a bell jar where people see her and judge her. Being in a bell jar means people can see you and judge you but you can't say how you feel. She feels like she is a insider and different than everyone else. Nobody like Dr. Gordon can understand her thoughts but they just critizise her. She feels there is no where to escape but in her Bell Jar where she is judged.
I feel Esther will eventually be out of her jar by moving to a different state or by taking her life

Describe the new asylum Esther goes to? What might life have been like had she been forced to stay where she was?
This new asylum is more plesant. The nurses and people that work their are very nice and care for you. This asylum allows people to go out, go golf courses and just have a fun time. Esther feels she is more safe here and can actually live there. If she was to stay at her old building I believe that she would of tried to kill ger self again. I think the crazyness would of built up more inside of her and she even could of killed other people.

Bell Jar- Dr. Gordon
Why doesn’t Esther like Dr. Gordon? Is he hurting or helping her?
She doesn't like Dr.Gordon because he is a waste of her time making her do things that don't help her at all. All he is doing is his job and not really connecting with his client. He does really listen to her and does what he thinks is right. To try to make her loose her crazy thoughts he makes her put this headgear on that shocks brain. This method was an old method that they tried cure craxy people with in the 1960's.

How does Esther act when she returns to Boston? How might her night with Marco have influenced her actions?
She is different when she returns Boston because of the interaction with Marco. When she spends time with Marco he abuses her. She comes back with blood on her and a different attitude. To try to forget the experience she throws her clothes out and watches them fly into the breeze. I think it has influenced her to think about how most men are dogs and are like Marco. This will make her more crazy as the book progresses.

So she goes in the bed to lay down and finds Constantin coming to. All they end up doing is talk and fall asleep together but not anything special. Bell Jar 2
What does Esther think of Buddy? What does she want from him? What does she want him to think of her?
First when Esther meets Buddy she loves him. She likes that he is smart, athletic, and good-looking. She later comes to realize that he's hypocritical and awkward. Also, Buddy tells her before they met that he use to date a girl for along trime. He says that he has alot of sexaul experiences with her. After hearing the awful news, Esther gets mad of what Buddy has done. So now she see's Buddy differently now. She wonders why it's ok for him to do it but not her. One part in the book is when Buddy ask Esther if she wanted to see him naked. I think that was very awkward to ask someone that. He wanted to see her naked and she wasn't comfortable to do that. She wants to get back at Buddy by sleeping with another man. She finds out that Buddy has TB and can't tell him how she feels. Basically that she wants to break up with up with him.

Bell Jar 1
Describe Esther’s feelings about her time in New York. Does she like it there? Why or why not.
I think that she likes New York but thinks the city is too fast paste. Esther reminds me of Buds mom in Pleasantville because they both feel confused and lost in their cities. When she explains her living in New York she writes how dull and empty she feels. When the book starts off it talks about how the setting takes place during summer that they excuted the Rosenburgs in 1953. What makes her stay in New York is her job with fashion and friends.

Pleasantville
Describe one or two ways the movie is trying to make Pleasantville look appealing. How is it trying to look unappealing?
The first way that they make Pleasantville perfect was by the language they spoke. In pleasantville all the words they used were positive. They like to use the words swell and other old fashion words. When the people speak in the town they always speak like their happy. Another way Pleasantville looked appealing beauce they had all the food you can eat. In Bud's house his mom made him tons of breakfast food that seemed so fake.
They try to make the city look appealing by making it seem like there is no problems and infinite happiness.

TV show from 1950.
A TV show from the 1950's that I researched was I Love Lucy. This show deals with marriage promblems in the 1950's. Like Leave It Beaver and Pleasantville they both show the positives of life. In their lives its all perfect and no one really gets hurt. The values that I Love Lucy presents is loyalty and relationship. It presents loyalty because Enrique has to be loyal to Lucy so their relationship will work out.

Japenese Interment camps April
Research the internment camps in California during World War II. Based on your findings, was it ethical for the U.S. to take such actions against Asians and Asian-Americans? How do these actions compare with those taken against Muslim-Americans after September 11th? How do they compare with Germany’s actions during WWII?
I dont believe that it was ethical to put the Japenese in the camps. When they were living in the camps the conditions were really bad. They had cook their own food that their bodies weren't use to. The clothes that were given were tworn and ripped. Their buildings weren't well constructed with holes in the walls and floors. Eventhough we were in war with Japan I don't believe that we needed to put them in camps. I think we should of just risen the security and awareness of the Japenese. They compared to Muslims because in our fight with Iraq we were suspicious of them too. Checking them constantly in airports. It compares alot to Germany because we both put a culture of people in camps. In Germany they were worse because that was out of hate. They treated them worse than animals and insects.

Chap. 20
Why is Wright realization at the end of the novel? Do you agree with it?
Yes I agree with Wright's relization of the novel. One thing that he believs in is that no matter what skin color you have we all have promblems. Black people have problems and so do white people within their same race. Richard throughout his whole life has been treated badly by whites and blacks. The white dont respect him cause he's black and the blacks in his life have rejected him. I agree that he has to work with people one by one to help. He says if this country doesn't find way to human path we all will go down the same drain. In conclusion, he wants to use his words to change the earth.

Artist vs Politicians
Do you agree with Wright’s theory that artists and politicians stand at opposite poles?
I agree that Artist and Politicians are on very opposite poles. Artist are very abstract and open to all different ideas. I think most Artist think for themselves and are open to many ideas. Also, artist look at more than one side of idea and ponder about the different attributes of it. They, artist, concentrate on individual life. Politicians are more direct and only think about one idea. They stick to one belief and dont look at the other ideas. In addition, politicians are influenced by parents, freinds and family and some don't think for themselves. In conclusion, politicians are involved in a system thats wants to keep you invisible and not see. Which isn't always a good thing.

Chap.17 - 18
Can one voice move a crowd to action?
I believe that one has and can move a crowd to action in many ways. One way a voice can make a crowd listen is by using the method of scaring them. If some one uses a fact that can scare people, people will listen to them. Also, If a person is a good leader and writer people will listen to them. In Martin Luther Kings example, he was a good leader and speaker to the people. In the book many people are listening to the communist party because they believe during the Great Depression that they will get something out of it equally. I believe that Richard can make is voice move the crowd to action because he is a good writer. He realizes that he can use his writers voice for the mass apeal in the communist party.

Chap. 16
What do you think of Wrights action during the election?
I agree with Right because he his mad about the election. The black society that he was with is paying people for there vote. He does not agree with that at all. The society is called Garveyites. Richard believes that the African Americans in the group don't see the real problems to racism. If I was in the same position as him I would also write I protest this fruad. He doesn't want to vote after all the stuff that has happened to him. He lost his job and he is witnessing other people telling people who to vote for.
In conclusion, I agree that the election is a fruad because people are cheating the voting system.

Separation Passage p 265
In this passage he talks about the separation between whites and blacks. Richard states that black people and white people have different personalities. He states that it took him years to figure out why. As he grew older he has found his aspirations in life. I think that Richard is true about his statement. White and Black people grow up in different families. They have different personalites and aspirations in life.
Chap 14
Explain last paragraph for chap. 14
In this paragraph Shorty is talking to Richard. He basically explains that Richard is so fortunate to have money to move to Chicago. Shorty says that their is nothing for him in the North. He says that he doesn't have any money to move anyways and is going to die in the South. Shorty explains that he has no reason to move because his life doesn't matter. Shorty has already waisted his life serving white people so he doesn't have any reason to move.

Chp 10-11 Subservient
Is subservience a necessary part of living?
I believe in this time period that Richard has to be subservient to have a job but he shouldn't have to. Richard Wright as a African American shouldn't always have to treat white people with more respect than his own kind. Through out the book Richard has to be subservient to his white workers or boss's or he will be fired ort hurt. Like in chapter 9, he was accused of calling Pease by the wrong name so he had to pay for it. In chap 10 he has figured out how the white people like their blacl co-workers. He says that they like them to be uneducated and dishonest. This shows that white people like their black workers to be subservient twoards them because their black, uneducated, dishonest.

South Blog
What does Griggs mean by ‘learn how to live in the south’?
When he says Richard has to learn to live in the South it means he needs to learn how to respect and get use to white people. Griggs means that Richard should be passive and not get in the white people's way. He wants Richard to learn that he can't stare up any trouble with them. Basically Griggs says that white people are inferior to blacks and they should be treated that way. Also in the South, Richard has to learn that white people treat blacks different. They act like their better and deserve better.
In conclusion, Richard needs to know how to treat white people and what to expect.

Is Wright justified in refusing to say the speech?
I think that Wright did the right thing when he read his speech. If I was in Right's position I woud of also refused the principals speech. The principal wanted Richard to say his speech because he didn't think Richards piece was good. The principal wanted his speech to be a passive speech instead of a speech that would cause alot of attention. Richard is getting more mature because he starts to actually think about his decisions. When he was younger he reacted off impulse instead of thinking.

Chap. 4-5 His writing
Why does Wright feel gratified after sharing his writing?
I believe that he feels gratified because he feels that he has accomplished something in his life. He had alot of troubles with his family and now he feels good about something. He also finally feels good with his self instead of being hastled and judged by his grandma. Wright feels since he shared his writing he now has confidence and is a good writer. In the book this scene shows that Wright is growing older and more mature.

Paralysis
Explain Wright’s response to his mother’s paralysis.
His reponse was surprising in a reader's point of view. Earlier in the book you see that Wright does all these immature things. Since his mom had a stroke and really couldn't provide for the family he knew that he had to step up for his own self. This showed a side of him that was responsible. At this point he is starting to understand the world and that he has to take care of himself. Eventhough, he realizes what happened he is still sad for her.

Chap 2
Wright says it was his ‘cultural heritage’ to dislike Jews. Relate that to his own experiences.
He believes that it is a heritage to dislike Jews because his culture and family was raised up disliking Jews. It's how he was raised up. Just like white people, they were raised up not to think for themselves and believe what their family said. White people just like him were raised up to dislike a culture.

Chap 1 Black Boy
Why is Wright really hungry?
I think that Wright is really hungry because he has no food to eat. Since his dad had left his family they don't have any food to eat. His mom tells him that it was his dad was the income in this family. His dad had left his family to be with another women. I think if I was in Wright's position I would be angry too. His dad left and he has no food to eat. His mother has to provide for him and his brother.

Reponse to novel
Do you agree or disagree with Wright’s view of the novel?
I dont agree with Wright's view of the book. When he explains what happens in the book he acts like when Janie was trying to find love she was stupid. He views seem like blacks shouldn't find love. He dosen't see the point of the book that Janie was trying to search for her lover. He explains the books as negro's just acting stupid trying to find love which dosen't happen. He dosen't have any pity for Janie he acts like the book was made for no cause.

Last chap of TEAWG
Through out the entire book, Janie is quick to talk; however, she says almost nothing during the trial. Why?
There are a few reasons why Janie dosen't say anything during the trial. One reason is because she is still shocked and still has grief from Tea Cake's death. I believe she is still shocked and surprised what actually just happened. Also, there is nothing she could say because no one would believe her. All the black people critize her of wanting kill Tea Cake. If she was to say something they would question her even more and not believe her. Im shocked that all of these people are jealous of her and don't care what she thinks.

Chapter 18 contains the line the title comes from – “their eyes were watching God.” Explain what the line means in the context it appears.
In this context there eyes were watching God because they were looking for God to help them through the hurricane. A bad storm had came to town and lots of people have left the city. This storm made them look to God for help. Eventhough in the dark they looking up they were watchin to for help. In conclusion when they were in need to safety they stared in the dark to look and watch God.

Chap 13-15
When they arrive in the Everglades, Janie is quick to work beside Tea Cake on the muck. How does this compare to the way she worked with Logan and Jody?
When she works with all these men she workds differently. When she worked with Logan she was forced and made too. Logan would beg for her to work. She didn't want to work as much as she was asked. When she worked with Jody she worked behind the scenes. Jody really didn't want her to work because he wanted to be the person who did everything. Now when she works with Tea Cake she isnt' forced and does really good. In the book it says that Tea Cake asked her hunt and showed her some skills. After a while she forms a better shot than him. In conclusion, Janie isn't forced or not wanted to work. She is asked in a nice way.

Chap 10 -12
– How do Janie’s actions with Tea Cake reflect her ideas about love as opposed to those ideas that Nanny, or others who grew up in slavery, valued?
Tea Cake is really the opposite of how a man is suppose to be. Janie's nanny said that a man is supposed to have alot of money where he can provide for you. Tea Cake is a man who cares about Janie alot but dosen't have that much money. Many people like Pheobe said that Tea Cake was too low for Janie and all he wanted was her money. They critized Janie because he is opposite of Jody. Jody had a lot of money and was succesful. Janie wants to be different than her nanny. She wants someone that she loves instead of just a person who has money.

Chap 9
In Chapter 9, Janie talks about how the angels grew jealous of man and chopped up and covered him in mud. How does this parable relate to Janie’s own experience?
I think that this relates to Jody's and Janie relationship. Jody had a lot of power when he had came to the city. I believe that since he was controlling the city and controlling people the angles weren't jealous but he didn't deserve that much power that he had. I think that by chopped up it meant that his kidney's were messed up when he had kidney promblems. Then when it said they coverd him up in mud I think it refferd to Jody's death. When Jody died Janie was free of mud and control. And I also believe that the jealousy can be referred to Jody's jealousy of Janie. How pretty she was and how other men liked her.

Chap 6 Their eyes were watching God.
Why does Janie care about the mule so much?
I believe Janie cares about the mule because she is in the same situation with the Mule. Also, she doesn't like human cruelty when peope tease the Mule. I think that when Matt Bonner controls the mule it reminds her of when Jody controls her. She feels a connection with Mule because they are in the same position. People had irritate her all her life and after the mule runs away people irritate it too. I believe when she sees the mule getting irritated she dosen't like it at all. More anger builds up to make her want to leave Jody even more. When the mule runs away i think it is a foreshadow to when she runs back to her town at the end.

Chap 3 and 4
Nature imagery comes up a lot in the first few chapters. Explain what you make of the last paragraph in Ch. 4.
The last chapter had alot of imagery in it. Janie feels like a new girl since she doesn't have to get nagged all the time by Logan. In the book it says " The mourning road air was like a new dress. That made her feel the apron tied around her waist. She unties it and flung it beside a low bush on the road and walked on, pixking flowers and making a boquet." She painted a picture in my head showing me how fresh everything looked and how new it seemed since she left Logan.

Chap 1 and 2 Their eyes were watching God.
In the opening chapter, Janie is returning home from a long journey (we don’t yet know from where). How do townspeople react to her? Compare and contrast this experience to the one she recounts about growing up playing with the Washburn children in Chapter 2.
They towns people act really disrespectful to Janie. Janie looks all dirty and nasty after she comes back from the Everglades with Tea Cake. The people start to make assumptions of what had happened to her. Some say that her man had left her and taken her money. When the town’s people had questioned her she didn’t answer any of their questions. This experience is similar because when she was a child she was criticized for hanging and playing with white people. They are always criticizing her.
