Huck Finn 32-33

What does Huck mean when he says “Human beings can be awful cruel to one another? What does Twain mean by having him say it?

I think that Huck means alot of things when he says this. He says this line because the Duke and the dauphin were tarred and featherd. Huck felt bad for them because at one point he was involved in their scam. Huck and Tom had agreed that what had happend was bad and if that happens a person feels bad no matter what. Twain means that many things that happend in the book were wrong. The main things is slavery. Like Huck it took people along time to actually view slavery as wrong. Humans shouldn't be cruel wether its' tarr and feather or slavery.

Blog Huck Finn Scam artist

How do the King and Duke swindle the family at the funeral? Compare King and Duke to Huck? Who is the bad guy?

The King and Duke trick the Wilks family by pretending to be the three sister's long unseen uncles to get thousnads of dollars in gold. They convince them by telling them all the information they learned, and also telling giving back the money to the Wilk sisters so they can steal it back. I think the King and the Duke are similiar to Huck. They are scam artist like Huck, I think they trick people so people wont know their true identities. In the past both Huck and the men have scamed people for money, goods, and just to get what they want. Last, if people don't know who they truly are and what they do they be get judged or in trouble.

It was said that this story was a phenomenon world wide. Star Wars expanded the human mind of the future.

Presentation Points

– What are some points you will argue in your presentation?
Points I might argue in our presentaton might be why this story was made and what lesson does it tell. The story might have a theme that its trying to explain. Many stories in today's reality have more than one theme or lesson. Another point that I might argue is how does this story relate to Huck Finn. Was the character in some way similiar to Huck Finn? Our story will be a interesting story that can relate to today's society.

Huck Finn blog 2

– Why does Huck want to help the men on the wreck? What does this show us about him?

I think Huck helps the men on the wreck because he has a nice side of him. Even though, those men on the wreck were robbers Huck still had some love or heart in him to save them. In addition, I think that Huck was thinking about what if he did something bad and someone left him to die. Huck would have felt very bad if he had left the men to drown and die. This shows that Huck has some good or generous values that Widow Douglas instilled in him.

HBF blog 7-11

What trick does Huck play on Jim? Why is he tricking him now when he didn’t want to before?

The trick that Huck plays on Jim. Huck finds a dead rattle snake and puts it by Jim while he was sleeping. Huck had forgotten about the rattle snakes mate. The mate came back and bit Jim in the leg. I think the reason Huck tricks Jim now is because Huck is more comfortable with Jim. In there adventure Huck has spent alot of time with Jim and they start to form a friendship.

LAM man blog

Blog – Is Eustace the ‘last American man’? Why or why not? Is that idea a good or bad one?

I think Eustace isn't the last american man because over the book he has changed into a controlling person who migrates from nature. Over the book I think he has turned in some way like his dad. He formed some of his dad's attributes like being very controlling and trying to have every thing perfect. I think there are many reasons why he loses his girlfriends but the main reason he lost them is of very controlling. An example of him being controlling is with Dauna in the forest. I also, think he has moved from the nature side is because it feels like he building all of these new industrial things and wanting to live in a house with ten kids.
Eventhough he seems controlling, I don't think of it as bad but I feel he wants to move on from this hardcore nature gut to a person who lives in the nature but doesn't do everything there. In conclusion, he dreams of something like a new life with a wife and kids.
