Class Discussion

In class we talked about many themes in the book Great Gatsby. One thing we talked about was the Title Gatsby and the chracter. The author F. Scott Fitzgerald new what he was going when he thought of the name Gatsby. In the word Gatby it has Gat in it which means Gun. Also we talked about how this book has alot to do with class. I think that class or how wealthy you are doesn't make a difference how your life is going to turn out your still going to have promblems. We talked about how this book deals with religion. Religion in this book is a material thing it's artificial. Gastby is viewed as a God by Nick and also by other people cause of his wealth. With the Dr. Eckleberg his eyes makes a comparison to God's eyes watches everything.
I believe that this book is based on material objects.
